Overview

Suzy is a family task manager (“Suzy,” “we,” “us”). This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your choices.

Information We Collect

  • Account information: email address; if you provide them, your name, phone number, and birthday.
  • Household content: the tasks, shopping items, dates, recipes, contacts, and notes you create inside Suzy.
  • Notification preferences: push subscription details from your device and your SMS / push schedule choices.
  • Operational data: logs of system events (notifications sent, errors) retained for debugging.

How We Use Your Information

  • To operate Suzy — store and display your household's content, send reminders, sync optional integrations.
  • To send transactional email (sign-in, password reset, occasional feature updates).
  • To send push notifications and (where you've consented) SMS reminders. See SMS Terms below.
  • To improve Suzy and debug issues using anonymized operational data.

We do not sell your data and do not share it with advertisers or marketers.

Third Parties

We use third-party service providers for hosting, authentication, email delivery, optional calendar integration, and AI text processing. These providers act as processors on our behalf and access only the data necessary to perform their function. We do not authorize them to use your data for any other purpose.

For SMS specifically, we use Twilio as our message transport. Your phone number, opt-in status, and message content are shared with Twilio only as required to deliver the messages you requested. They are not shared with any other party.

SMS Terms

If you opt in by providing a phone number and enabling SMS in your settings, Suzy will send you transactional SMS messages related to your account, including task reminders, important-date reminders at the lead times you choose, and household notifications (e.g. when a household member assigns you a task).

  • Frequency: varies by your settings; typically a few messages per week.
  • Costs:message and data rates may apply under your carrier's plan. Suzy does not charge for SMS.
  • Opt-out: reply STOP to any Suzy SMS, or disable SMS in Settings → Connections → Push notifications. Opt-out is honored immediately.
  • Help: reply HELP, or reach us via our contact form.
  • We do not sell, rent, or share your phone number, your opt-in status, or your message content with any party other than Twilio (our message transport).

Data Retention

Household content remains in Suzy until you or another household member deletes it. If you delete your account, we remove your personal account data within 30 days; shared household content you created may remain visible to other members. Operational logs are kept for up to 90 days.

Your Choices

You can, at any time:

  • Edit or delete the content you've added.
  • Disable push or SMS notifications from Settings.
  • Disconnect any optional integration (e.g. Outlook calendar) from Settings.
  • Request a copy of your data, ask for correction, or delete your account via our contact form.

If you are in the EU, UK, or California you have additional rights under GDPR / UK GDPR / CCPA. Email the address above and we will honor any valid request within 30 days.

Children

Suzy is not directed at children under 13 (16 in the EU). We do not knowingly collect data from children. Household members are added by an existing adult member.

Security

We use HTTPS, encrypted data storage, and per-household access controls. No system is perfectly secure; report any concern to our contact form.

Changes

We will update the “Last updated” date when this policy changes and notify active users in-app before any substantive change takes effect.
